Our August 2012 Caregiver of the Month is Amy Edwards. Amy lives in Monroe, Georgia, with her four children: Alex (19), Zharia (13), Micah (11), and Lauren (7). Amy moved to Monroe from Fort Hood, Texas.
Soon after arriving in northeast Georgia Amy decided to pursue a career in nursing. Her first step was to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She obtained her CNA certificate in Conyers, GA, which enabled her to begin working for Remain At Home Senior Care. She describes RAH as “professional, organized and friendly with a helpful staff.” She is quick to point out that this is the exception in the home care industry and not the general rule.
Like many who choose to pursue a nursing career, Amy was guided by a deep compulsion to help others. When she isn’t assisting others professionally, she is an active and diligent member of her church.
Amy was rewarded with the Caregiver of the Month distinction because she showed a level of commitment, willingness to help, and reliability that rose above the crowded field in the month of August. As a caregiver for RAH, she maintains an enviable balance between caring and professionalism and is an amazing model for all of our staff for obtaining their own excellence.
